Chico, Montana

Road, excavation, drainage, and snow services around Chico Hot Springs and Pray.

Chico Hot Springs sits in the mid-valley near Pray, tucked against the Absaroka foothills. The area is a mix of ranches, rural homes, and the resort, all on rural roads off Highway 89.

Foothill properties around Chico see runoff coming straight off the mountains, so drainage, culverts, and well-crowned gravel roads matter here — along with winter plowing for access that climbs and drifts.

Chico Service FAQs

Do you serve the Chico Hot Springs area?

Yes — Chico and Old Chico are just up the valley from our Emigrant base, and we do road, driveway, drainage, and snow work throughout the area.

Can you handle steeper foothill driveways?

Yes. Driveways that climb need extra attention to drainage and surfacing so runoff does not cut ruts down the grade. We build and maintain for that.

Water runs down my driveway every time it storms — what actually fixes that?

Interception and shedding: a ditch or swale uphill that catches the flow, a culvert where it must cross, and a crowned surface that sheds sideways. On grades, water bars help too. It's a system — and it's very fixable.

Can you keep a climbing driveway open all winter?

Yes — steeper Chico-area access is normal on our routes. A firm, crowned surface plows clean and takes traction sand where it ices; a fall regrade before the season makes every storm easier on it.
