Land Clearing in Paradise Valley, Montana

Before you can build, ranch, or reclaim a piece of ground, it has to be cleared the right way. EZ Road Repair clears and grubs land — trees, brush, stumps, and rock — across Emigrant, Livingston, Pray, Gardiner, and the rest of Paradise Valley, opening up overgrown and rugged property so it’s safe, usable, and ready for what’s next. This is rough country, and clearing it with the right equipment is faster, safer, and cleaner than fighting it a chainsaw at a time.

When land clearing matters

  • Opening ground for a new home, cabin, shop, barn, or outbuilding
  • Reclaiming overgrown pasture, fence lines, and ranch acreage
  • Cutting in a new driveway or access road through trees and brush
  • Creating defensible space to reduce wildfire fuel around structures
  • Turning a rough, unusable lot into functional, workable land

Common problems we solve

  • Overgrown, impassable ground — we clear brush, trees, and slash and open the property back up.
  • Buried stumps and rock — we grub roots and pull rock so the site won’t settle or fight your equipment later.
  • Wildfire fuel against buildings — we thin and clear to create defensible space, and clear fence lines.
  • A site that needs to be build-ready — we clear, then grade and prep in the same push.

How we work

We start by walking the property and planning the clear — what comes out, what stays, and where the debris goes. Then we clear and grub with excavators, dozers, and loaders, haul off or stockpile the debris, and hand you open ground. Because we also handle site preparation, excavation, and roads, we can take a raw parcel all the way to a build-ready site with one crew.

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you remove stumps and rocks, or just cut the trees and brush?

We clear the whole works — trees, brush, stumps, and rock — and grub the roots so the ground is actually workable, not just cut back. Buried stumps and rock left in place cause settling and equipment trouble later, so we pull them and haul them off or stockpile them where you want.

Can you clear for defensible space around a home or cabin?

Yes. Thinning brush and small trees back from structures to reduce wildfire fuel is common work out here. We can open up the area around a home, cabin, or outbuilding and clear fence lines to create defensible space. See also our fence line and brush clearing service.

Can you clear and grade the site in one job?

Usually yes, and it's more efficient that way. Once the ground is open we can grade it, rough in drainage, and cut the driveway while the equipment is already on site — so you're set up for the next phase instead of bringing a crew back.

What do you do with the debris — trees, brush, and slash?

We haul it off, or pile and place it where you want it on the property. What makes sense depends on the volume, access, and whether any of it is worth keeping for firewood or fill. We'll sort that out with you up front.

When is the best time to clear land in Montana?

Anytime the ground is workable — but clearing early in the season keeps the rest of a build on schedule, and fall clearing sets you up for a spring start. Frozen or snow-covered ground can actually help on wet sites. Call (406) 623-9075 and we'll advise for your property.
