Site Preparation & Demolition in Paradise Valley, Montana

Every build starts with the ground, and in this country the ground is rarely ready. EZ Road Repair clears, grades, drains, and preps sites — and takes down what needs to come down — for homes, shops, additions, and ranch projects across Emigrant, Livingston, Pray, Gardiner, and the rest of Paradise Valley. Get the site right and everything after it goes smoother; get it wrong and you fight settling, drainage, and access for the life of the building.

When site prep matters

  • A new home, shop, cabin, or addition that needs cleared, level, buildable ground
  • Raw or wooded land that needs clearing and grubbing before anything else
  • An old structure, foundation, or slab that has to come out first
  • A site with drainage or slope problems that have to be solved before the build
  • Access for equipment and deliveries that needs a road cut in

Common problems we solve

  • Uneven or sloped ground — we cut and fill to grade and build a stable, drained building platform.
  • Wet or poorly draining sites — we rough in drainage so water moves away from the build, not into it.
  • Overgrown or wooded lots — we clear, grub, and haul off so the footprint is open and workable.
  • Old structures and concrete in the way — we demolish and remove them and clean up the site.
  • No build-ready pad — we build and compact the house pad so the foundation has something solid to sit on.

Our approach

We sequence the work so the equipment does the most in the fewest passes: clear and strip, set drainage and grade, build the pad, and cut the driveway and utility trenches while the ground is open. Topsoil gets stripped and stockpiled to reuse for final grading. Because we handle excavation, drainage, roads, and materials in-house, you’re coordinating one local crew instead of stitching together several.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does site preparation actually include?

Clearing and grubbing vegetation and debris, stripping and stockpiling topsoil, cutting and filling to get the ground to grade, roughing in drainage, and building and compacting the pad or road the build sits on. The goal is a stable, well-drained site your foundation or building crew can start on.

Do you handle demolition and haul-off too?

Yes. We take down and remove old structures, sheds, and outbuildings, break out and haul off old concrete and asphalt, and clear the site so it's ready for the next phase. We recycle concrete and asphalt where we can and dispose of the rest properly.

When should I schedule site prep in Montana?

As early in the season as the ground allows. Our building season is short, and site prep is on the critical path for everything after it — foundation, utilities, framing. Getting cleared and graded early keeps the rest of the build on schedule. Fall is also good for prep ahead of a spring start.

Do you build the house pad, or just clear the site?

Both. Clearing and grading is the first step; building and compacting a proper pad is the step that actually carries the structure. See our pad building service — compaction and drainage under the pad are what keep a slab or foundation from settling and cracking.

Can you rough in the driveway and utilities during site prep?

Yes. It's efficient to cut the driveway, trench for water and power, and set drainage while the equipment is already on site and the ground is open. Call (406) 623-9075 and we'll plan the sequence with you.
